x Gerard grew up in a pretty average family. Middle class, nuclear set up, all that good stuff. His mother and father got along pretty well and he got a lot of attention being the only child.
x He's always been a pretty bright person, coasting through all his years of school with minimal effort. Up until high school he maintained an A-average, but due to both his extra-curricular involvement and escalating spats with his father he found his grades slipping and himself not caring much about them.
x The only grades that never fell were those Gerard earned in the Social Studies department, and as a result when it came time to choose what to do in college Gerard decided that he would love to take after his favorite teachers and show a new generation the wonders of history.
x With his father refusing to offer any kind of financial support and his mother unable to sway him in any way, Gerard wound up paying his own way through college. This cut down on the extra things he liked to do, and resulted in him working a lot of hours to afford basic living. The effort would pay off when he graduated with honors and his Degree in History.
x When he turned 26 Gerard moved to Nova and took up teaching at the local high school, he's been there ever since. He has a reputation for being a notoriously tough and passionate teacher. Known for throwing things when angry and having a special box of soft objects to whip at students sleeping or talking in his class. He nearly got fired multiple times in his first few years due to unethical and unconventional teaching methods and poor lesson plans.
x Gerard is 5'11'' and weighs 183lbs, most of which is muscle built up through constant activity. He is a heterosexual and more than enjoys an occasional drink. While he does his best to be a decent role model and inspiration during the school day, Gerard is pretty liberal about his actions outside the classroom.
x His college days have made him into an incredibly thrifty person, to the point where he'll sacrifice quality for an extra buck any day.
x When it comes to historical trivia Gerard has no equal, and it shows whenever he's allowed to get into a good discussion on politics or the world in general. This knowledge spans from geography all the way to the many religions of the world.
