LONELY HEARTS CLUB, DO YOU WANT TO BE WITH SOMEBODY LIKE ME
| There were many things Juniper hated to do, however the number one spot went to 'forced participation in parties hosted by people she couldn't care less about'. In fact, she was damn sure she had only met the host twice and came to the conclusion that they were a self righteous prat who had never worked a day in their lives, living off inheritance money. Which is why she hadn't exactly made an attempt to be greeted by the host, no, she'd leave her adoring parents to do that whilst she knocked back the free champagne just to make this party bearable.
Besides what more fun could you have at one of these events then people watching? Sure she was supposed to be promoting herself and all that but she knew half of these people anyway, mummy and daddy being members of the club anyway. Elbows on the surface of the bar, the purple haired girl continued to sip at her drink, waving at the few people that noticed her and smiled. Another hour, then she'd make her excuses and leave. It was just an excuse to get dressed up and make an appearance after all.
"Yes, sorry, can I just grab another one of these?" Juniper asked, stepping forward and grabbing another drink from one of the servers before turning around and walking straight into someone. Seriously, what was with people and not being able to open their eyes and look where they were going. Trying not to giggle, the woman raised a hand up "Sorry! I didn't mean too! I didn't get any of my drink on you, did I?"
Not that she cared about their clothes, it would just be a waste of her drink.
open, idk what i'm doing here.

The invitation might have been extended to the whole of the Shaw family, but Aiden knew who it was meant for; his parents and not him. So how in the world had he found himself in a suit and tie sipping from a glass of champagne? Simple; his parents had badgered him into it. They had been concerned that he was not keeping in touch with the 'right type of people' and God did they have to be so stereotypical British in this regard? But, in the end they had begged, wheedled, brought up the invitation from 'an old business associate' and managed to convince Aiden into going. He had been regretting his moment of weakness ever since. The whole affair was high class and by association was just so boring, so muted with people talking in hushed voices and offering cliche' and bland compliments. Even the prospect of a room full of new people to meet and understand failed to excite him. So Aiden did what he did best; he put his body on autopilot and slipped into his own little world inspired by the latest science fiction novel he had read and directed by a particularly catchy tune that was stuck in his head.
Just as he was about to reach the crux of his daydream, complete with lightsaber to lightsaber duels and flashy explosions somebody collided into him. Aiden gave a light frown, this wasn't the first time he would be crashing into somebody while daydreaming and the resulting explanations and apologies never failed to be a bit awkward. Thankfully the woman who had bumped into him seemed to think it of as her fault and started apologizing- asking after the state of Aiden's clothes. Quickly running a gaze across his suit and finding it spotless the psychologist gave a quick smile. "Nope, my clothes are still sober." he assured her "Are you alright?"
don't mind me dropping in- open, I couldn't resist~

| Oh good, his clothes were okay, that meant that her drink hadn't been completely wasted. Good, she needed it. Still he seemed a lot younger than most of the old, pretentious and boring crowd, more around her own age to be exact so who knew. Maybe she'd just found someone to kill time with before she made her escape.
"Oh! That's good then" the purple haired woman replied, taking another sip of her drink with a smile. Still the suit looked pretty expensive and she wasn't the kind for ruining expensive things, not that the money was any problem, you just had to treat some things with respect. Like clothes ... God she loved expensive clothes.
"Me? Yes I'm fine" the idol added, swaying a little in the shoes that she had that might have been a little too high but whatever, alcohol was a wonderful thing. "Thank you for asking ...?" Juniper held out, waiting for a name. After all she was sure they had never met before, she was pretty good with putting names to faces.

Aiden shrugged off his newest acquaintance's concern for his suit; it was understandable, but then again he was the same person who spent most of his time in a pair of swimming trunks and an unbuttoned shirt. No, what Aiden's brain decided to focus on was the fact that he had found someone -not senile- to talk to and to kill time with. And best of all she seemed like a pretty genial person; the apologies part had already been skipped over and done with the apologies and now introductions were being started upon. Who knew crashing into somebody could be such a good icebreaker? Aiden noted the fact down for future reference.
"I'm Aiden, Aiden Shaw; your friendly neighborhood psychologist." the man in question introduced himself, subtly emphasizing on the slight British accent that he had picked up from his parents for that extra oomph. "And whose beautiful company is it that I'm enjoying today?"
Because, when he gave her a second look, she really was quite pretty- with her purple tinged hair and eyepatch somehow highlighting that fact in a way Aiden really couldn't pin down. Exotic allure maybe? Whatever, he was starting to go off on a tangent again, and that wouldn't do when he was talking to somebody. Those unique features also managed to tickle something at the back of his mind, there was something familiar about them, but surely he would remember such a distinctive face right?

LONELY HEARTS CLUB, DO YOU WANT TO BE WITH SOMEBODY LIKE ME
| A psychologist hey? It was nothing Juniper knew about personally but she supposed he found it interesting. After all, what was the point in a job that you didn't want to do when you got up in the morning. Sure there were sometimes where she wished that she could just lie in bed and have a day off, but all the hard work she put in came into fruitation and she could honestly say that she enjoyed showing up to it in the morning.
He'd hit it off right with the beautiful compliement, if there was nothing more satisfying to Juniper it was a stroke to her own ego but not knowing who she was? There seemed to be a sudden influx of people that didn't seem to know who she was. Maybe she just needed to step everything up a notch; force people to remember who she was.
"It's Juniper, Juniper Mae" she replied with a smile that masked the irritation she felt on the inside. She'd grown good at that over the years. "I'm mainly a singer, I dabble in other things too though"

Aiden beamed as he heard Juniper's occupation- a singer; how exciting! While he might like listening to songs as much as the next guy; the most the psychologist could do in the field of music was to sing in the bath- and that too at the risk of the neighbors' wrath.
"Really? That's so interesting; here I am getting paid to listen to other people and their problems while you make other people listen to you."
Aiden gave out a cheery, carefree laugh that seemed out of place in the formal atmosphere of the club.
"I should get an autograph- who knows, maybe one day it'll be worth millions!" Aiden further exclaimed, patting himself over for a pen and paper. He found his signature fountain pen from somewhere in his pockets -he had been looking for that!- and it hopefully still had some of the green ink Aiden liked to write with, but all he could find to write on was a paper napkin. Aiden wrinkled a freckled nose; a paper napkin? Definitely not good enough to fetch him a six figure sum on Ebay. On top of that his enthusiastic voice and out of place looks -he was probably one of the only two people here who had yet to experience a mid-life crisis- had already managed to draw looks and whispers.
It was time to make himself scarce, and perhaps whisk away the star of the evening too. "What do you say Miss Juniper; would you mind leaving the party and help me find something more worthwhile to sign on than a paper napkin?"

| "Ehh? Like opposites! That's pretty cool" Juniper replied with a grin. Was it really cool? Was it? It was just some common coincidence, what could possibly be 'cool' about that. Yet still, there she was, saying it was because she literally craved the conversation because there wasn't actually anyone else she could talk to without being bored to tears.
'It'd be worth a lot now.' The purple haired woman was so tempted to reply, biting her tongue to stop the words slipping out. After all, she didn't want to lose her new friend now did she? "Hopefully, maybe!" she chirped back, whilst Aiden tried to find something for her to write on ... which she found amusing. Still, she couldn't help but smile at all the looks they were getting, probably jealous of the youth that the rest of the room didn't have.
"Oh God I was hoping you'd ask, it's so boring." she muttered back, draining her glass before putting it back on the countertop. She just wanted to get out of this stuffy room with the boring old people, why did she even have to come anyway? "I would have no objections to leaving Mister Aiden, please lead the way!"

Tally ho! And the game was afoot! Finally Aiden was able to find a fellow conspirator to ditch this depressing gathering of the old and the rich -managing to find a somewhat workable excuse on the way too. Now all he had to do was to find a way to sneak out with the the star of the party -literally as she was an idol after all- away without anybody raising too much of a bother. Old people's minds worked in strange ways and a young woman, slightly tipsy, leaving with a man had the tendency to raise...ideas. You didn't even need a psychologist's degree to tell that much. So quietly and subtly -in his own mind at least- Aiden led the way for Juniper, trying to avoid the eye of anybody that might want to stop the pair for a word or the like. And while weaving his way through people the ever amiable Aiden tried to strike up a conversation again. "So Juniper, besides singing, what other things do you dabble in?"

LONELY HEARTS CLUB, DO YOU WANT TO BE WITH SOMEBODY LIKE ME
| Sneaking out wasn't too hard, people were too absorbed in conversations about how great they were to even notice, if they did then they just got a wave and a smile. Anyone who did seem like they were going to get in the way were offered a smile and a wave as she continued walking away. She was leaving, it would be rude to hold her up after all. If there were any thoughts about anything going around then those could stop right there, not that she had to tell these people that, she didn't owe them anything.
Juniper just kept on his heels, stumbling slightly as she continued to follow him through the mass amount of people, stumbling down to alcohol and shoes with a dumb amount of heel.
"I act and model upon occasion, it's never as good as the singing part but it's alright I suppose" she replied with a small shrug. The acting part was okay she guessed, modelling she just found downright boring half the time, you just stood there and did nothing. "What about you? Any other interests other than psychology?"

"Eh; psychology's more of a passive hobby that I use to pay the bills really. I just like interacting with people so I ran with the subject in university." Aiden replied honestly.Because, in all honesty, psychology as a subject was dry. All those case studies, experiments and the sheer bother of rote learning was something Aiden never knew how he got through. The real fun was doing what he was doing now- getting along with people and getting to know them."What I like doing though...well most of my activities center around the beach I guess. Playing volleyball or just lying around- you get the idea right?"Or maybe she didn't; Aiden certainly found it hard to imagine living a life immersed around singing and acting- too fast paced for his liking really.A bit caught up in his own thoughts now he almost missed the exit that they were looking for. Well it seemed like it was time to say goodbye to the party, dull as it was he would hardly miss it. But where to go now...besides a trip to the valet of course.Aiden turned and posed the question to his companion. "Alright then let's get outta here; any preferences where you want to head out to?"

| The woman nodded when he said it was more of a hobby to him than a job. That had to be the best way to look at it, you were supposed to have a job that you enjoyed and what could be more enjoyable than developing on a hobby.
"Yeah I get you." Juniper replied with a smile. She understood the appeal of it, despite never going to the beach a lot. There were always too many people around, with paranoid parents and a well known face she wasn't really allowed out a lot. Plus she was always doing so much as a kid, plus her parents being busy meant that they didn't do a lot as a family. It was mainly nannies that she did 'family' stuff with anyway.
"Take me anywhere, I've never really seen the city all that well. Just show me some place new!" the woman exclaimed, waving her arms in the air the moment they got outside. Anywhere was good with her. Just somewhere that was new.

"You're not missing much if you haven't seen parts of the city." Aiden assured Juniper.
After all the city tended to deviate towards the tourist trap aspect quite a bit sometimes, which for somebody raised in the city was frankly annoying. Moreover the sheer effort required for navigating through the masses and dealing with the people was too much for somebody like Aiden. No, the psychologist preferred those out-of-the-way niches in which he could spend his time relaxing. Quiet places, preferably with comfortable seating and a not-too-nosy clientele...one such place came to the front of his mind.
"In fact if you want to go some place new; I have an idea." there was this lovely diner close to the beach which didn't get much traffic and even if Juniper disliked that there were plenty of places nearby. It was a decent idea. "How do you feel about seafood and East Nova Athens?" nope, no excuses just had a hard time rousing my muse; sorry.

| "I've lived here all my life though, I feel like I'm missing out!" the idol loudly exclaimed. She didn't know anything about the city, she didn't know where the best place was to get coffee, or where the comfiest seats were in a movie theater or where a secluded beach was where people didn't show up with their annoying families. She didn't exactly have a lot of real life skills ... everything had always been done for her.
Hmm? An idea! Any idea was good with her at this point anyway. Just as long as it was something new and exciting and away from this boring joint then she would be very happy to go!
"I like seafood, we should go!" Juniper replied, clapping her hands together. She was just excited to be going somewhere!
