Gracie didn't walk down the street - she just about skipped, with the zeal of one who had just awoken from the most restful sleep of their life. And sleep was always restful when it came after a day that was bursting and bustling and busy. Then you woke up feeling ready for another day, full up of working and volunteering and helping and helping and helping.
Today, she had a bag slung over her shoulder, like Santa Claus bringing gifts. It was full of donated clothes, and it was lighter than its size let on - but still a bit heavy. Heavy enough to tear through the garbage bag that contained it. She trailed clothes a few feet before the sleeves of a blouse tangled about her feet and sent her stumbling, turning to see the bag had torn and the clothes had fallen out.
"Aw, shit."

With her finger on top of the black straw, Vera was happily sipping the last little bit of her fruit juice whilst strolling down the street, not quite knowing where she was going. The sky was still light, so she reckoned she had plenty of time to try and make it back home for dinner.
It was then she noticed the pink haired lady who looked like she'd been looking through bins all afternoon stop walking, and a pool of clothes surrounding her. Gasping, she quickly ran over to pick up garment after garment, stacking them on top of her arm.
"Are you okay?!"

Getting a coffee, going on patrol, walking home - everything seemed to make Stiles have just another adventure. If he weren't completely certain that he wasn't a superhero, he'd say that he was in a comic book ofhis own. The only issue was that people in comic books were generall good looking, or suave or they were superheros - and sadly for Stiles, he was none of the above. The closest he was to being any of those things was that he was a police officer, a rookie police officer that really was just bossed around by anyone with any amount of authority.
Though, there was something that kept him from turning his back and continuing on his walk with his coffee when he saw the two girls helping pick up clothes. Reaching down, he picked up a blouse that had fallen a bit further behind, and he walked over to hand it to the one with the bag. Or, at least, on the sidewalk.
The other girl asked if she was okay, Stiles instead held out a hand in case she needed help up.

Gracie liked to think the best of people, and people liked to prove themselves. A white-haired girl came over, picking up the dropped clothes, and then a man stopped to help her up. She took his hand, expression set in a bit of a frown as she stood and dusted off her overalls. Then she flashed them a smile, because she certainly wasn't upset. Not that upset. "Thank you!" She said, very earnestly.
"I'm fine," She replied. "I just don't know what to do with these clothes now." She huffed a sigh before bending over to gather an armload for herself. She should have brought another bag - she had meant to, actually, hadn't she? Well, whether she had the foresight or not didn't matter - she didn't have another bag, just this one with a big old hole in the bottom now. One hand scooped up clothes, another itched the side of her head, thinking.

She turned to look up at the new stranger who seemed to have helped the poor miss out! What a nice person! Vera grinned at him without saying a word to him, because the pink haired miss was telling her something, so the Chinese girl turned to face her instead.
"What do you mean?! You can wash them and they'd be all sparkle clean right?" Vera's eyes widened, watching the clothes as if they'd just spring up and out of the grip and dance dance dance until the sun went down, or something.
"You mean... OHHH, you don't have a bag now, because your bag got hurt? That's terrible! I'm so sorry!" Vera gasped, then frowning. She turned to the newcomer.
"Do you have a solution to this problem, mister? Do you?" She asked hopefully. He looked a bit reliable.

Opting to just stay quiet, Stiles gave a slight nod in response to her thanks while the other girl seemed perfectly happy to spew enough words for the both of them. He stuck around, though, more out of curiosity on whether there was much more he could help with. With one of their bags being torn, and the other one doing creation knows what, he wondered if he'd be able to lend a hand in something.
Though his hope to being able to stay mostly silent was crushed when he was asked a question directly. "We can all carry something? The three of us should be able to hold most of that." He nodded to the pile, tossing his coffee into a garbage can before taking is own generous armload. "We'll just follow you to wherever you're headed," Stiles said, grinning over his pile at Gracie.

She opened her mouth to explain – kindly, of course, understandings were nothing to be mean about - but the girl realized it on her own, sounding sympathetic. She turned to the man for a solution, and so Gracie did too, waiting in anticipation for the great idea they were both accepting.
Gracie brightened at his offer and looked to the girl for confirmation.
"Oh, thank you!" She could have hugged him, both of them, though his arms were full of clothes, as were all of hers. "It's just a few blocks from here, then people who need these clothes can pick them up!" She added in way of explanation, puffing out her chest. She had collected them all herself, door to door. They would be a bit dirty from the ground, but hopefully most of them would be fine just dusted off.
She was just about ready to march off in the lead, but stopped midstride, mouth opening in a horrified 'o'. Gracie had almost forgotten! She plucked the torn bag from the ground and stuffed it into a garbage can. There was also a pop can by the recycle bin – someone must have missed, that was okay – and she picked that up too, deposited it in the right bin, and then turned to the other two with a nod of finality.
And speaking of important things that had almost been forgotten - "I'm Gracie, by the way!"
